International Candidates…

Supplementing an education by studying in two or more countries takes grit and determination.  These character traits and the wider perspective international candidates bring to prospective employers can be invaluable.  Too often, however, companies lose out on a source of exceptional talent because recruiters find the task of evaluating international candidates too daunting.  Teton Sands helps clients gain an edge on such companies by using "sabermetric-like" vetting practices. Case Study: Russian Transcript Evaluation

Two issues require special attention:  fraud and technical evaluation.

While the vast majority of candidates are what they appear to be, incidences of fraud are increasing.  “Are documents authentic?  Does an institution exist?   Is it a diploma mill?  Does it offer the course of study?” are questions that require effort to answer.

With authenticity established, the task of technical evaluation remains.   Document-by-document and course-by-course evaluations are required to establish a baseline for comparing international candidates.

For help with vetting challanges, Teton Sands supplements its in-house expertise by tapping resources with a long tradition of credentialing international students and teachers -- academic institutions and the specialists that originally evolved to serve their credentialing needs.
